THE INSPIRATION
“I used to love collecting leftover cardboard boxes from packages as a kid. These boxes would become my next adventure. My imagination turned these cardboard structures into castles, spaceship command centers and flying trains. This was the start of me wanting to travel and see the world whenever I got the opportunity.”
“I was inspired by the birth of my son (Jr.) to illustrate this important phase of my childhood. I wanted him to see a character that looked like him traveling the world, solving problems and using his imagination as the starting point. So I created this character called (boxboy Jr.). A Cuban and African American mixed boy who uses a cardboard box as a vehicle to journey through his imagination.”
SYNOPSIS
Two classmates become instant best friends after realizing a strange ability they both have in common. The ability to physically travel through their imaginations using cardboard boxes as the vehicle to solve real world issues plaguing their small rundown town of Lake Wood. They do this from the comfort of their separate bedrooms. Follow as the duo embark on a LIFE CHANGING adventure to confront a different type of villain.
